dress for success | colors and their meanings We may sometimes find Christians who object to dance in worship. In these situations it is important that we aim to maintain fellowship and “agree to disagree.” Here are 3 basic areas of objection:
Specific: They may have had a bad experience with
dance in church in the past.
Acclamation: Some Christians may not know about the scriptural references to dance, And therefore feel it is not in order with the edify of the Body Of Christ. Some people feel that the “dance” is not for today, but was used solely as a form of ancient Israel. Dislike: Some people just don’t like Christian “dance”. People often feel threatened by change and feel comfortable with routine. Dance as something new can pose a threat. In a “traditional” church atmosphere, the usage of familiar hymns may allow your Ministry to become more accepted by an “older” congregation. Remember: Dance is a visual and powerful means of expression.. It should be used as a means of the Holy Spirit to touch and convict it’s receivers. In few instances the gift of “dance” can cause jealousy to spring forth from individuals with low self-esteem. Pray for those who lack this understanding. God did not give each of us the same gift…..Know your “Mantra”…… In all cases, both positive or negative: Pray for the Lord’s guidance and for those who either accept or reject your ministry. Matthew 5:44 “He will show us how to love them.” 22Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. 27But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" 32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
